Zendaya Opens Up About Early Interest in Bridal Fashion

Hollywood actress and producer Zendaya, aged 29, has shared a personal childhood memory in a recent interview, revealing that she was fascinated with wedding dresses from a very young age.

Speaking in an interview with Elle released on May 28, Zendaya discussed how she often imagined herself wearing bridal gowns during her early school years.

Childhood Memory of Dressing as a Bride

Zendaya recalled that during kindergarten and early childhood, she frequently chose to dress as a bride, especially during costume events. She explained that she wore wedding-style gowns for Halloween on multiple occasions, not necessarily because she wanted to get married, but because she enjoyed the idea of wearing elegant dresses.

According to her, the fascination was more connected to fashion and styling rather than a literal desire for marriage at that age.

Conversation Linked to Film Role

The topic came up while Zendaya was discussing her latest film The Drama, where she plays a character who wears a simple wedding dress in a romantic storyline opposite actor Robert Pattinson.

While reflecting on costumes from different stages of her life, she compared her on-screen bridal look with her personal experiences and memories.

Relationship Status and Public Attention

Zendaya has been in a long-term relationship with actor Tom Holland since around 2017. The couple’s engagement was confirmed in January 2025, although they have not publicly shared details about a wedding.

In recent months, speculation about a possible private wedding has circulated in entertainment media, but neither Zendaya nor Holland has confirmed any such reports.

Fashion Influence and Red Carpet Bridal Themes

During the promotion of The Drama, Zendaya also drew attention for her red carpet appearances inspired by bridal fashion themes. Her looks followed the concept of “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue,” featuring multiple designer outfits across international premieres.

These fashion choices further highlighted her long-standing connection to bridal style, which she now describes as a childhood fascination rather than an early life goal.
